Pen Pals Program
Students from Mnyanzeni Secondary School have received their first letters from Punahou school in Hawaii. Students at Mnyanzeni have been learning about environmental conservation and tree planting for the last year and are eager to share their lives and projects with American students. The photo shows Venessa Moraa, our coordinator for Kenya's Kwale county, receiving the letter before distribution. Mnyanzeni students are now working on their own letters and art and sending them back.
Green World Campaign has supported the creation of environmental programs in over 100 Kenyan schools. These students learn about the environment and how it supports them and what they can do to support it back. Students also take part in adopt-a-tree programs though which tens of thousands of trees are planted yearly. Connecting with students around the world is very important and we are extremely happy to bring Punahou and Mnyanzeni together and hope to do the same will all the schools we work with in Kenya.
